If we want to bring about impactful education reform, it’s critical that we create a culture in our schools where educators are open about errors and open to change and unlearning For many teachers Universal Design for Learning is foreign, and many feel like it’s "just another educational fad” that will be replaced with a new one in a few years. It’s imperative that teachers understand that the UDL framework prepares our students to be expert learners who are purposeful, motivated, resourceful, knowledgable, strategic, and goal-directed.
